Car battery replacement is often straightforward when it is planned, but waiting until the battery is completely dead can turn a routine maintenance visit into a tow, missed appointment, or stressful roadside call.

When Car Battery Replacement May Be Due
The most familiar warning sign is slow starting. They tend to cost more, but replacing an AGM battery with a less suitable conventional type can create performance and reliability issues.
Certain vehicles also require a battery registration or reset after replacement. The vehicle's battery-management system needs to know that a new battery has been installed so it can charge it correctly. Skipping this step may reduce battery life or cause charging problems.
